About this ebook - Backlink Basics:

      Total number of pages: 60

        Foreword:

Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or web page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by one web page, directory, or top level domain from another web page.

Inbound links were originally important (prior to the emergence of search engines) as a primary means of web navigation; today, their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (for example, this is used by Google to determine the PageRank of a webpage). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.

Search engines often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the most important factors for determining that website's search engine ranking, popularity and importance. Google's description of their PageRank system, for instance, notes that Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. Knowledge of this form of search engine rankings has fueled a portion of the SEO industry commonly termed linkspam, where a company attempts to place as many inbound links as possible to their site regardless of the context of the originating site.

How to Sell This eBook Online?

How to Publish an eBook With Amazon Books

You don't have to compete in the slow-moving publishing industry to see your manuscripts become published books. Amazon allows you to self-publish ebooks, which readers can then download and read on computers and Kindle devices. You do not have to pay any upfront fees: Amazon takes a percentage of the royalties upon each sale, and you keep between 35 percent and 70 percent of the sales.

        Digital Text Platform

After you have completed your manuscript, sign up for a Kindle Direct Publishing account on kdp.amazon.com. You can tie your KDP account to an existing Amazon account, or create a separate account for your ebook business. Signing up for an account is free, and you do not have to publish any ebooks in the end if you change your mind or if formatting the book takes longer than anticipated.

        Formatting the Book

Amazon Books allows Microsoft Word (DOC and DOCX), ePub (EPUB), HTML (ZIP, HTM or HTML), Plain Text (TXT), Rich Text Format (RTF), Adobe PDF and Mobipocket (MOBI or PRC) formats. Word files typically allow for a precise transfer of format. When using Word files, adjust the document as you would have the final ebook appear, complete with images, line and page breaks, and page numbers.

        Creating a Book Cover

The book cover is often the first part of your ebook that potential buyers will see during their search. Take the time to create an attractive cover image in JPG format. Use stock images or images you take or design yourself. You can also hire a freelance graphic artist to create the cover design for you. Whichever option you choose, make sure that you have the rights to publish a book with the featured image and fonts.

        Publishing the Book

Publish as many ebooks as you like. Sign in to your Kindle Direct Publishing account and select "Add New Item" to be directed to a form to complete. Fill out the name of your book, a brief description, the edition number and the ISBN number if you have one. If you do not have one, one will be assigned to you. Upload the book and cover image, then verify that you own the rights to publish the material. Select the price for which you would like to sell the ebook, then publish it. The book may take up to three days before it appears online.
